It feels so good to be back in the swing of portraits on the beach. Yahooo…..summer is on the way! Not only did we have a beautiful May evening, this family just happens to be one of my favorite families to spend time with. I have been photographing them for just over two years now and every time I see them, their children get cuter. I don’t even know how it is possible but they do. This session was centered around capturing 7 month images of their little one…but we were able to get a few of the rest of the family too. How could I not?! Thanks Beth and Tony!!

My parents are two of the most amazing people. Kind, generous, fun…the kind of people that can make any day an incredible one. They are just as delighted by one another as they were in 9th grade homeroom when my Dad fell off of his chair to catch her attention.
They love my boys so thoroughly and I don’t think I could ever express how grateful I am to have them be such an integral part of my life. I am just so lucky.

Meet one of the most awesome families I know. Not only are they beautiful, they are just as amazing on the inside as they are on the outside. Mom has been my best friend since 4th grade, and I cannot imagine my life without her. Having a friend that is so dear and knows you so well (too well!) is one of life’s sweetest blessings. We made it through grade school together, through Henry David Thoreau in 9th grade English, through boyfriends, through break-ups, through college and now through marriage and motherhood. We took these a few months ago on a wonderfully warm evening, and when I was editing them last night (took me long enough huh?!) I couldn’t help but be swept up in the delicious memories of summer.

Meet the apple fritter family. This is the kind of family you immediately want to be part of. The kind that has that sweet, simple goodness that is so inviting. Now, before you (or they) wonder why in the world I would call them the apple fritter family…..just let me explain. Anything having to do with apples; apple pie, apple strudel, apple dumplings, and of course apple fritters ignites in me a feeling of home. A feeling of sugary, warm comfort that makes me want to wrap up in a blanket, jump on a comfy couch and be with family. The smell of homemade apple fritters wafted through the air of this beach home on a beautifully sunny and crisp morning. The house was filled to the brim with laughter, food, family and two adorable babies of the furry variety. I was so honored to capture a little part of their time together.

The most energetic member of the family enjoying a morning swim.

My son went through a phase when he was 8 months old that we affectionately called the “shock and awe” phase. I dare say this sweet one has a bit of the shock and awe expression herself!
